Laloo terms for businesses and cities
Version 2026-09 · Last updated September 2026
In short: Laloo is free for travelers. Listing a place is free. You can edit your information or switch your profile off at any time. We don't sell your data.
1. For everyone
These terms apply when you sign in at laloo.org/account.html to manage a business or public toilets on Laloo, a free web map that helps people find a bathroom nearby.
- Accurate information. You only publish information that is true and that you are allowed to publish: opening hours, fees, notes, discount codes.
- What we show. Your information is shown on the map and on Laloo's city pages, in several languages. We may shorten or translate text so it fits.
- Moderation. We may correct, hide or remove content that is wrong, misleading, offensive or unrelated to finding a bathroom.
- Statistics. We show you anonymous numbers: how many people saw your pin, opened it, asked for directions or copied your code. We never share the identity of travelers, because we don't collect it.
- Your account. Sign-in works with a link sent to your email. Keep your inbox secure. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
- No guarantees. Laloo is provided as it is. We do our best to keep it accurate and online, but we can't promise that a place is open, clean or free at any given moment.
2. For businesses
- Free listing. A basic listing is free. Paid plans (more visibility, featured stops in Loo Routes articles) are optional and agreed separately.
- Sticker check. To stay on the map, free listings send a photo or short video of the Laloo sticker every 2 months, paid listings every 6 months. If we don't receive it, the pin is hidden until you send one.
- Discount codes. If you publish a discount code, you honor it while it's shown on Laloo.
- Partner label. When a paying business appears in our articles, it is always labeled “Laloo partner”.
3. For cities and public bodies
- Free, always. Claiming and using a city profile costs nothing and has no contract length.
- Who can claim. Only someone with an email address on the city's official domain can claim its profile. By claiming, you confirm you work for that city or public body and may manage this information.
- Before claiming. Unclaimed profiles are compiled by Laloo from open data. We don't use the city's name, logo or the word “official” as if the city had approved it.
- After claiming. Your toilets show a “Verified by the city” badge. Fields you edit are locked: our automatic updates won't overwrite them.
- Open data. The toilets remain on the map as public information even if you switch the profile off. Location data comes from OpenStreetMap and stays under its open license.
- Switch off any time. You can switch the profile off from your account page in one click. The badge disappears and your account loses access.
- No endorsement. Claiming a profile doesn't mean the city endorses Laloo or any business on the map.
4. Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we'll update the version and date above and tell account holders by email before important changes take effect. Questions: hello@laloo.org.
